Our goal is to develop youth literacy and expression through sequential media with an emphasis on STEAM. We also feel that representation matters and that Essex County youth should see characters, artists and professionals who are a reflection of themselves. Therefore, we created a festival to promote creators of comics, books, film, and other media with a focus on people of color. The Khem Fest is not limited to comics. Our events highlight other literary genres like speculative fiction, as well as animation, video games, collectible toys and models, films/documentaries, and all other media related to the Popular Arts.
